Recipe

How it turned out

An aptly named recipe, this was a shockingly easy (and delicious) focaccia. The recipe also includes visuals to help you see what things should look like every step of the way. As a beginner in bread, I found this recipe very accessible.

I used a smaller pan to produce a thicker bread, and it turned out light and airy, and deliciously moist.

I went with garlic and rosemary as my flavours of choice. It was a very straightforward recipe, so I don't think improvisation with the toppings would screw anything up.

What I learned

Read your recipe ahead of time. It gives you the big picture and it lets you set expectations and prepare accordingly. Trying this for the first time, I knew I needed to start the day before to give it time to rise overnight in the fridge. Things become a lot easier when you aren't rushing the process - with both life and dough ;)
